A {Fever} Dream | Sustainable Clothing Store | Clothes for All Genders |

Sustainability in Fashion is A Fever Dream for all.

A {Fever} Dream was borne of the idea that the fever of inspiration and the dream of perfection push and pull in all creators.

When envisioning AFD I set out to let inspiration rule perfection; to embrace imperfection as a finishing point. To let things look handmade, because that is what makes them special.

Sustainability in fashion is a lofty goal.

Repurposing and reusing life’s discards is one of the simplest, most efficient ways to contribute individually to waste reduction. Circular fashion is built on the idea of finding ways for materials to live on, beyond their intended use.

So I search: for new materials, for new treatments, for the puzzle in the pieces and the pieces in the puzzle.

Growing up in the country often meant using what we had before we made a trip to town for something we needed. As a result, resourcefulness has always been a cornerstone of my creative process.

Fashion fever began with my maternal great-grandmothers, both seamstresses, as they passed various skills along to me. Many of their tools help make these pieces. I continued that legacy by attending fashion school in San Francisco.

In that learning spirit, as we grow, I intend to offer tutorials for some of our upcycles, refashions and revivals, so other makers are able to share in the process, and keep their own beloved pieces in their circle.

I can’t thank you enough for being here. I have been slow-burning this dream for the better part of a decade. I found my first logo designs from 2017 on my computer as I was building out this site.

Sometimes the trick is to have patience, take care, slow down and do the work, one piece of the puzzle at a time.

Love to you all. – Philip Ryan
